Join us weekly as we feature some of the best local DJs that Atlanta has to offer. Spinning two hour live sets in the studio, these DJs will put on a show you won't want to miss. Also listen in as we give away free tickets to local events.
The first EDM Sound System show aired in June of 2004 on WREK. Its original host, Nate Fisher, created the one-hour long program in effort to bring dance music back to WREK, which had no similar programming at the time. Since then, Nate expanded the show to a two hour time slot, added 3 hours of syndicated programming Thursday nights, as well as forged ties with local promoters and DJs. In late 2005, the current show hosts, Alok Marwaha and Javier Orraca took over. They expanded EDM Sound System to new heights by adding new programming and continuing to host live DJ sets every Saturday night. Alok and Javier worked with Beatport to host a top 10 countdown show every week, as well as created a weekly show hosted by local DJ Roland Darragh. With a global vision in mind, Alok and Javier have had international DJs on the show, such as: Phil K, BT, Deepsky, Crystal Method, DJ Rap, Gene Carbonell, DJ Dan, as well as promoted national events such as Global Gathering Festival and Bang Music Festival.
